Instructors

Every staff member has been selected by the director and has proven themselves
as a quality dance educator, as well as an accomplished dancer. Ms. Manville
and many of the teachers here at the Academy are certified by test to teach
by The Dance Masters Of America, one of the oldest and largest dance teacher
organizations in the country.

Dance Masters of America qualifies its members by exacting examinations of
their knowledge of the dance arts by pedagogic methods, by a minimum of three
years teaching experience and by demonstration of personal integrity.

Wanda Manville Owner/Director:Wanda Manville is the owner and Director of the Tempe Dance Academy. She began teaching at the age of 13 and has trained in all areas of dance and gymnastics.Wanda majored in Dance at ASU and became the mascot for the ASU Football team. She has added Ballroom Dancing \ to her list of achievements. Studying with world class teachers throughout the country she has received numerous overall first place awards for all styles of Ballroom. Wanda also held the rank of “Elite Judge” for the USA Gymnastics Association for over 20 years. She is certified to teach in all areas of dance.
Tammy Manville-Booth Instructor: Tammy Manville-Booth has been dancing and teaching for over 20 years. She was ranked the Number 1 “Elite Gymnast” in the United States in 1975, and became an alternate to the 1976 Olympic Team.Tammy danced in such movies as “Outrageous Fortune”, where she was Shelly Long’s double, “Teen Wolf Too”, Breakin Too”, “Speed and Time” as well as “Rating Games” with Danny Devito. She was also a featured dancer on the Italian Television Show “Fatastico”. Tammy was a member of the famed “Rockkettes” as well as Jackie Sleight’s company “A Sleight Touch”, Doug Caldwell’s company and Billy Goodson’s.
Wendy Manville-Baker Instructor: Wendy Manville-Baker is the owner of Talent Factory now sharing its home with the Tempe Dance Academy.Wendy started teaching 23 years ago at the family owned TDA. She is the Coordinator and Choreographer for the Annual Disneyland Magic Music Days trip taken in March.
Holly Manville-Cook Instructor:Holly Manville-Cook has been dancing since the age of three and has been teaching for over fifteen years.Holly graduated with a B.S in Psychology and a MFA in Dance both from Arizona State University. Holly has danced in numerous Industrials, videos and films, including the motion picture “Tank Girl”. Holly was a Cardinals cheerleader for two years and modeled locally with Leighton Agency and Internationally with Society of Style of Tokyo. Holly has appeared on Star Search with “Rush Hour” and choreographed for other groups appearing on the show. She was a member of Ballet Jude and The Cliff Keuter Modern Dance Company. Holly has been on Faculty at ASU, MCC, TDA, and Eastside Ballet. She has won numerous National Overall Awards for her choreography. Holly also judges for Dance Masters of America, Dance Olympus and On-Stage America.
Michael Cook Instructor: Michael Cook is a principal dancer with Ballet Arizona entering his sixth season.Michael attended the School of American Ballet for three years on full scholarship. Other scholarships include Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and Pennsylvania Ballet. Since joining Ballet Arizona, Michael has danced featured roles in Amoroso, the Nutcracker (Cavalier), Swan Lake, Skinny Puzzle, Scarlet Symphony, Prodigal Son and Slaughter on Tenth Avenue.Michael has originated roles in Ib Andersen’s Romeo and Juliet (Romeo) and Mosaik. He has appeared on ABC’s Dance Fever and was currently featured in the June/July issue of Pointe Magazine. Michael is the National Director of Jr. Mr. / Miss title competition for Dance Masters of America.
Natalia Magnicaballi Instructor: Natalia studied and began her career at the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires in Argentina, where she was born, and became a principal dancer at Julio Bocca’s Ballet Argentino. While with that company, she toured and performed in the most beloved classical titles as well as neoclassical and contemporary pieces in the main houses and arena theatres around five continents.In addition to dancing with Ballet Arizona, Natalia is a principal dancer with the Suzanne Farrell Ballet, performing leading roles in Balanchine and Robbins ballets at Washington’s Kennedy Center and on United States tours. Her extensive repertoire includes premieres and special creations for her by such choreographers as Jiri Kylian, Mauro Bigonzetti, Mauricio Wainrot, Oscar Araiz, Alberto Méndez, Ana María Stekelman, and José Antonio Ruiz, as well as the 2000-01 season for the European company Aterballetto and works for Contemporary Ballet of the San Martin Theatre. Natalia has also danced in celebrated international dance festivals and performed at stadiums to audiences of over 100,000.
